Hi Jan and George -- Mahalo nui loa. We want to thank you very much for allowing us to use your beautiful Mahana condo for our vacation. As I've shared with you, we are fairly regular visitors to Maui and Mahana is our favorite and preferred place to stay. With that as a knowledge base and then having talked with you and seen the website pictures we were pretty confident we knew what to expect, but it exceeded every expectation. You really do think of everything to make it a pleasant stay for your guests. We were completely surprised by the fresh flowers and enjoyed them during our stay. Another surprise was to find the A/C on for us and the place already cool and welcoming - what a nice surprise on that hot afternoon! We soon learned the A/C system worked extremely well and could cool it down fairly quickly when needed, but it was very nice to find it cool on arrival.
I think I shared with you that just by coincidence we have always stayed on upper levels, but we now believe the 3rd floor is the best and your location at the end of the hallway can't be beat. The furniture and dishes and artwork and decorative touches were all beautiful. We were really surprised by the attention to detail. The quality and attention to detail made us feel as though we were staying in a home, not a vacation rental and it really made our vacation even more enjoyable. The towels were nice, we've never had an ice maker in any unit before, we couldn't get over that you even supply laundry detergent. We just can't say enough about the unit. We loved everything about it. It was especially nice because although we were pretty active and gone a lot, we also had time to relax at the condo.
We saw a monk seal that first evening and had the most beautiful sunset you can imagine. The next morning we saw a sea turtle from the lanai and later that day we saw dolphins. Within less than 24 hours we had seen a monk seal, two sea turtles and a pod of dolphins all from the lanai - without ever leaving the condo! Our vacation was off to a great start and it stayed that way for the whole time. I'll be contacting you about renting your condo again!

Hi Jan, I just wanted to let you know that we had a wonderful time on our vacation. Your condo was much more than we expected. The website and pictures do not do it justice. You have a real gem in paradise. We cannot wait to come back and we will recommend your condo to all our friends and family. It was perfect and had all the amenities of home. We enjoyed breakfast on the lanai and we used the coolers for our picnic lunches on the beach. Enjoyed the sunsets and long walks. Thank you so much for opening your home to us.

Dear Jan and George -- Aloha! I know you’ve been conversing with Jeff about your rental unit but I just feel compelled to write you myself! I intend to write a note in your guest book, here too, but I just wanted to tell you sooner than you’d get back here to read it.
You must know that by the time we arrived, it was dark (very dark!), so we never saw any part of Maui until the next morning. I’m not usually a morning person, but I awoke early because I couldn’t wait to see what we’d missed as we drove in. I came around the corner into the living room and gasped, and then started to cry. Nature makes me cry every time! Your view and setting are INCREDIBLE!
In addition, your attention to details in this unit has made all the difference for us! Soft towels and sheets, special soaps, good cookware, available beach towels, chairs, and coolers are just to name a few. You’ve arranged the furniture towards the view, when so many people usually arrange it towards the TV - something I’ve never understood!!!
Jeff and I have been traveling a lot in the past few years, so we’ve had many opportunities to stay at lots of places. We can adapt to anything, and certainly have, but we ALWAYS notice when a place we stay has “gone the extra mile” to make it comfortable. We also own a rental unit on an island in south Georgia (NO comparison to Maui!), so we always take notes to try to improve the amenities for our guests as well. We’ve learned a lot from you!
I do hope everyone who stays here takes care of it for you, so that you’ll continue to rent it for years to come. (I MUST come back to watch whales!!!) I am a believer that we’re all here to make a positive impact on as many people as we can before we die. Please know that you’ve done it, again, for two people that you’ve never met!

Dear Jan & George -- Wow! From the moment we walked in we were amazed. Your condo is wonderful. Thank you for sharing it with us. (Already have my parents talked into a trip staying here!) We had perfect weather, saw several whales every day and while walking just south of the Mahana on the beach, we got to experience two huge sea turtles. They were so close that my husband was standing in the water to take a picture and a wave almost knocked the turtles into him! The sunrise at Haleakala was amazing, even more amazing were the stars, planets, and even satellites we could see before the sun rose. We also recommend the Luau at the Hyatt worth paying the extra money for VIP.

What a place! We feel so at home here (we have to admit, we weren't sure about the bright blue walls in the pix on the internet, but we loved them once we got here!). The whales have really put on a show for us & we've even spotted dolphins a couple times. We love being this close to the ocean & spent lots of time out on the balcony. We're not excited about going back to snow! We'll be back!

Wow! Like everyone else, we could not believe what a gem we have found. The condo is like describing a whale breach from a picture (we saw 8 from the window less than 1/4 mile out!). Thanks Jan & George for your kindness to all of your guests. We started each day with papayas, apple-banana and banana bread from the health food store down the street. The recliners at the windows were terrific. Loved to eat at Roys, Aloha Mixed Plate, and Okazuya Deli (down the street and great for take-out.) Saw Warren & Annabelli's show - a don't miss if you can get reservations.

Jan & George -- Had a great time. Your condo is truly a “home” away from “home." Enjoyed the HDTV and filtered H20 and ice maker. It’s nice to have those conveniences! Had 2 great meals at Kimos – prime rib and mahi mahi are great. The gazebo is a must for breakfast (macadamia banana pancakes and their country benedict are fabulous.) Sorry to go home but need to work so we can come back.

Jan -- Just wanted to say thanks for the use of your amazing place. Walking down the beach it definitely looked like the best place to stay, and it had everything one would want and need, and the bed and pillows were super comfy. We saw quite a few whales sitting on the balcony. We had dinner at Waterfront in Maalaea and dinner at the Plantation house. They were both great. Thanks again.

Aloha Jan & George -- After 30 years of coming to Hawaii we finally stayed up “north” rather than the Kihei and Wailea area. A family wedding brought us here this time. This was also one of the few times we have come to Maui in November rather than in Feb. or March. Really love the drier and warmer weather. We loved our stay in your well maintained and updated oceanfront condo. We’ll recommend it to anyone staying in the Kaanapali area.

What more can we say that hasn’t already been said? This first trip to these islands for a couple of land-locked Vermonters has been a delight- and our stay in your condo, so well appointed and applianced has been a high point ! We love to cook and have eaten lunches out and liked grocery shopping and cooking “in” at dinnertime..the exception being Thanksgiving; wonderful ahi and fillet Mignon at sunset at The Seahouse Restaurant, which we highly recommend. Of course, we have been interested to watch what happens on the water, sails, kite surfers, kayakers, surfers, outrigger canoes….but no wild life of the natural sort! It’s been a great week – Mahalo.

It is the most amazing place to spend our honeymoon & to start our life together – it’s hard for us to leave and return to Chicago . Your condo is beautiful, spacious & the views are amazing. Jan & George -- Thank you for allowing me to rent your condo when I came to Maui for the very 1st time for a wedding. The view is spectacular. I had 20 other relatives in town staying at various places & they were all jealous of the view. I did a lot of things here in Maui, Shangri La Catamaran, Luau@ Hyatt, Road to Hana, Aquarium. Everything was wonderful. Sorry I have to leave tomorrow. Hopefully one day I will be able to return. Thanks again.

Dear Jan and George -- Thank you for sharing your lovely home with us. This was truly a “once in a lifetime” experience and a wonderful way to spend our 20th anniversary (along with our terrific children.) Your condo is beautiful, the view is absolutely amazing. There were so many incredible things to do. We highly recommend the beach at Kapalua, for both swimming and snorkeling. The Maui Ocean center was lots of fun, and the road to Hana (and the 7 pools) was definitely worth the long ride (including all 617 curves!) All in all this was an “amazing and spiritual experience.” We could not have been happier with the accommodations, and would certainly stay in Mahana 307 again. Thanks for everything!

Dear Jan & George -- The minute we opened your front door & entered your condo we said “Wow” and we haven’t stopped. It’s absolutely phenomenal. I’ve been to Maui several other times, but this by far the nicest place! Beautiful sunsets, perfect location & lots of “homey” feel. We hate to leave. Thanks so much! We’ll be back.

Dear Jan & George -- We struck gold when we found your condo for our stay on Maui - what a place! After enjoying our own kitchen, living room, and all the amenities of home, we can’t imagine staying in a hotel again. The view is outstanding too! Our favorite beach is the one just north of here. We dined at Bubba Gump & the Front Street Bar & Grille and enjoyed them both. Took in Warren & Annabelle’s magic show in Lahaina and just loved it-such entertainment! Thank you for opening your wonderful condo to us-it truly enhanced our vacation here!

Dear Jan & George -- We’ve had a wonderful 12 days here in Maui. It was the first trip here for my 2 children and they really enjoyed it. So did Ken and I. Your condo exceeded our expectations with the nice decor and beautiful views. We spent a lot of time snorkeling at various locations, sunning on the beach and of course shopping in Lahaina. We were pleasantly surprised by the aquarium and would recommend that to others. Thanks so much for sharing your place. We hope to return again!

Our 4 days in Maui were the highlight our trip. Your condo is outstanding in every way. The favorite part of every day was a cocktail on the lanai watching the sunset. This is our 3rd visit to Maui and the best so far. Relaxing golf at Kaanapali and Kapalua Plantation and a ride up to Haleakala Crater. Great restaurants:
Kimo’s – Best prime rib!
I’O – sophisticated ambiance, great location (patio) and excellent food.
Flying home tomorrow - hate to go – but reality awaits! We will definitely be back at Mahana 307. Thanks Jan & George. Best regards...
